Miss California appears in anti-gay marriage Ad
Carrie was named the first runner-up to Miss North Carolina in the Miss USA pageant April 19th, 2009. Miss California Carrie Prejean of 21 announced that she’ll be working with the National Organization for Marriage on a campaign opposing gay marriage. She says "I am just here to protect marriage,”. And also said that "The National Organization for Marriage basically just respects marriages and people who support it. I am here to protect traditional marriage."
Conservative stance, she said that "I never thought in a million years that this would be happening right now. I was attacked for giving my own opinion on stage. I am going to do whatever it takes to protect marriage." She also added that “This is not about me. It’s about the future of marriage. It about my children and my children’s children. It’s about me standing up for something I’m extremely passionate about."
